Some of the potential suggestions don't make sense. I live by myself on the outskirts of town. There is no public transit available to get me into the downtown area to socialize, so I have to drive...or not go out.
Even tho I telecommute and don't actually drive to work everyday, there really is no reason to carpool when I do stuff close to home..and no friends to carpool with.
